Past Walk of Fame inductees include Melts In Your Mouth, Not In Your Hand (M&M's), "A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste" (United Negro College Fund); and "Imagination at Work" (GE).
Winners are recognized via permanent street banners, thanks to a special arrangement with the Grand Central Partnership and Advertising Week. Americans can vote at www.advertisingweek.com/wof. The winners will be inducted into the Walk of Fame during Advertising Week Sept. 21-25, and will gain a permanent position on the advertising industry's version of Hollywood and Vine -- Madison Avenue.
Public voting began on Aug. 21 and will end Sept. 18. The winners will then be announced during Advertising Week.
Nominees for icons are: the AOL Running Man, Big Boy, Budweiser Clydesdales, Burger King, California Raisins, Captain Morgan, Crash Test Dummies, Doublemint Twins, Fruit of the Loom Guys, Jolly Green Giant, Keebler Elves, Little Debbie, Maytag Repairman, McGruff the Crime Dog, Ronald McDonald, Michelin Man, Mr. Clean, Mr. Mucus, MSN Butterfly, Smokey the Bear, Snap, Crackle and Pop, Subway's Jared, Test Man, Travelocity Roaming Gnome, Tucan Sam and the Vlasic Stork.
