FierceMobileContent has named the winners of its 2009 annual mobile application awards, with the aim of recognizing apps built to last. They include:

-Sherpa--A free local discovery app for Android phones and powered by a learning engine called Genie (Geodelic ENgine for Interest Evaluation), Sherpa promises a more customized user experience each time you use it, recommending retailers, restaurants and attractions as it gains understanding of user likes and dislikes.

-Zagat to Go '09--This app compiles information from the familiar ratings guide including over 40,000 reviews, as well as suggestions covering nightclubs, hotels and retailers for $9.99. Other features include search, reservations, top-rated lists organized by locale and sorting by food, décor, service scores or estimated meal cost.
