USA Today has launched a new travel application for the iPhone dubbed AutoPilot that allows users to track trip itineraries and flights, access a travel services directory and check the weather, among
other things.
Serving as launch sponsor of the free app is Hampton Hotels, which has a branded presence on the opening screen and a variety of customized ad integrations throughout AutoPilot.
They include units that link to location-based services letting users map Hampton locations and book reservations at its 1,700 properties nationwide as well as get local restaurant and attraction
information.
USA Today already offers a free newspaper app for the iPhone and Android phones. It has been downloaded 2 million times on the iPhone to date. --Mark Walsh
