Social gaming will get a boost with the integration of Facebook and Twitter into Xbox Live. The addition of Facebook to the online gaming platform will allow users to engage in popular activities
on the social network on their living room TVs.
"With Facebook for Xbox, you can update your status, browse updates from your friends and view photos on the big screen. You also can link
your Facebook profile to your Xbox Gamertag to find your Facebook friends and connect with them on Xbox Live," read a post on the Facebook blog Tuesday.
With Twitter on Xbox, users can tweet
directly from their game console, view new tweets from accounts they're following, and check the latest trending topics. Besides Facebook and Twitter, the new Xbox Live update also includes Zune and
Last.fm. The Zune feature lets users watch high-definition TV and videos with up to seven friends, while Last.fm offers a customized streaming music service. --Mark Walsh
