HEADLINERS THIS WEEK:

Monster.com announced that STEVE POGORZELSKI, BRIAN FARREY, and ROBERT O'CONNELL have each been promoted to a newly created position of Group President. Pogorzelski, formerly executive vice president of global sales, has been promoted to Group President - Sales, Marketing and Customer Relations. Farrey, formerly chief technology officer, has been promoted to Group President - Strategy, Product & Technology. O'Connell, formerly CEO, has been promoted to Group President - Finance, Human Resources & Administration.

NetCreations, Inc. announced the appointment of TOM CLONINGER as the company's President and COO. He was a Group Executive at Acxiom Corporation.

ANN SIEGEL has been promoted to Group Media Director at MediaVest in Los Angeles. She joined the agency in January as Associate Media Director managing the DIRECTV and Blue Cross accounts.

FRANK MORGANO was tapped as National Sales Director for Cox Interactive Sales. He joins Cox from DoubleClick where he was a Regional Account Manager.

Lot21, a Digital Experience Marketing company, announced the hire of TONY NETHERCUTT as its Executive Director of Business Development. Nethercutt most recently served as DoubleClick's Director of Advertising Sales for the Western US region.

STEVE WEINSWIG has worked his way up to President of Giant Step after being one of the first employees when he joined the company in 1995 as an account director.

At Detroit Newspapers, JAMES F. KLEINKLAUS has been named Senior VP/Advertising. Kleinklaus comes to Detroit from Syracuse, New York, where he spent 12 years as Director of Advertising and Marketing for Syracuse Newspapers.

RISA ARONSON has been promoted to advertising manager of W magazine. She joined W last year, and had been working as sales development director.

RENEE TULENKO has been promoted to Eastern advertising director at Shape magazine. She had been Eastern advertising manager. SAMANTHA DEUTSCH will take Tulenko's old spot; she had been the sales development director. Also, TRUDY ROBINSON FOLEY has been upped to Midwestern advertising director from Midwestern advertising manager at Shape. The promotions are part of a reorganization of the advertising sales unit that will now include three regional advertising sales directors.

JONATHAN BARZILAY has been named senior vice president and general manager of Toon Disney. He had been general manager for children's programming at ABC.

CAROLYN WALL has left Newsweek magazine from her position as marketing and communications director to start her own marketing business.

HAROLD MEYERSON has been brought on to The American Prospect magazine as its new executive editor after serving as executive editor and chief political columnist for the L.A. Weekly since 1989.

STEVEN BINDER has been appointed senior vice president and publisher of Golf Digest magazine. He had been senior vice president of corporate sales at Condé Nast Publications. Also at Golf Digest Cos., KEITH LEVITT has been promoted from senior vice president to executive vice president and chief operating officer. ROBERT MAXON has been promoted to executive vice president. He was previously senior vice president and group publisher.

ALAN STERNFELD has signed on as senior vice president of planning, scheduling and acquisitions for Lifetime Entertainment Services. He had been with ABC supervising primetime specials, and developing and producing late night, reality and variety series.

STEPHEN STE. MARIE has been named president and chief operating officer of Intertainer. He previously served as chief executive officer for CareerPath.com.

BILL GRUESKIN, senior editor of The Wall Street Journal, has been named managing editor of the online version of the paper. He replaces RICH JAROSLOVSKY, who'll be returning to the print edition as a senior editor. NEIL BUDDE has been named chief product officer for Dow Jones consumer electronic publishing, and will maintain his current position as publisher of WSJ.com. TODD LARSEN has been named general manager of Dow Jones consumer electronic publishing.

DAVID MORGANLANDER has been promoted to VP at Interep.
