of the Q&A session of the "Consumer Panel: College Grads Entering the Workforce." The interesting insights (and killer quotes) are flowing. Michelle Prieb, Project Manager, Research and Communications at Ball State University is the moderator. One question she asked was, "What companies do you receive email from and how often do you view them?"

The answers were fascinating (not verbatim): *I minimize amount of marketing I get through email. I tend to keep a few around if they offer coupons. I also subscribe to places I frequent. I hate it when companies use my first name in the subject line. I hate that. I'm not your friend. Don't pretend that I am. *I sign up for newsletters and anything where I can save money. I often just read the subject line. I recently received an email from Victoria's Secret with the subject line, "Today is the last day for the sale." I bought somethen received same subject line next day. PISSED. Never buy from them again. *2 email boxes. Personal and newsletters to separate *Usually reads ones that say 20% off - reads ones from Amazon and Coach - Coach is expensive, so she looks for deals; Amazon uses subject lines that point to deals - go directly to that page *Share with Facebook - loves sharing deals with her friends. "I never knew that you could get so many coupons through email. I have sooo many clothes now."
