Greystripe Extends Network To Ovi Store

  • February 2, 2010

Mobile ad network Greystripe will support advertising in applications offered through Nokia's Ovi app storefront. The company already serves advertising in iPhone and Android apps as well as Java downloads on feature phones.

Launched last May, the Ovi store is available to 50 million Nokia phone users across 50 different devices. But the Ovi store still only offers a small number of titles compared to the more than 140,000 in the App Store and 20,000 in the Android Marketplace. The ability to run in-app ads via Greystripe could encourage developers to create more free, ad-supported apps for the Ovi store. Greystripe's network is best known for serving full-screen, rich media ads around mobile games. --Mark Walsh
