Failed water pipes in the Boston area have left roughly 2 million people without drinkable water, and local marketers are pitching in.

Poland Spring, based in Hollis, Maine, says it is has already brought in 21 truckloads -- about half a million bottles -- and the Nestle subsidiary says it expects to deliver another 1.4 million bottles in the next 48 hours to help ease the boil-alert crisis.

And Boston Beer Co. tells the Boston Globe it will not be brewing Samuel Adams locally for the next few days, to help conserve water. --Sarah Mahoney
