R/GA London on Thursday said it expanded its technology department with the addition of two experts, Paul Abrelat and James Deakin. Abrelat will lead the group as the new executive technical director, responsible for driving the technological vision across all of London's accounts. He will also partner with global tech leads throughout R/GA's offices to ensure technological continuity.

Meanwhile, Deakin joins as technical director and will develop technology initiatives for clients, as well as partner with the office's creative and planning functions to determine R/GA's strategic approach to client work. Abrelat is replacing Nick Coronges, executive technical and strategy director, who recently relocated back to the New York office. He comes to R/GA London from Schematic, where he was the director of technology from February 2007 to June 2010. Before R/GA, Deakin was an associate technical director for Dare, where he worked to refine the digital agency's operations and business practices. --Gavin O'Malley
