Los Angeles-based agency holding company EMAK Worldwide this morning said it filed voluntary petitions under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code for itself in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the
Central District of California. All other EMAK operating subsidiaries are excluded from these voluntary petitions, including its Equity Marketing, Logistix, Neighbor and Upshot agencies and operations
in Asia. Operations of these subsidiaries are expected to continue uninterrupted. EMAK said the voluntary bankruptcy petitions are the result of protracted litigation. EMAK says its client roster
includes blue chip advertisers such as Kellogg, Kohl's, Kraft, Macy's, Procter & Gamble, Jamba Juice and Safeway.
