Last Comic Standing: The Search for the Funniest Person in America – purports to find the funniest comedian in the
nation. The series, hosted by Jay Mohr, has an eight-episode commitment by NBC and will air in either the spring or summer of 2003. It’s kicking off with a talent search in Georgia, Texas, New York
and California this month; talent searches in Chicago and St. Louis have already been completed. It’s produced by Peter Engle Productions plus NBC Enterprises and Giraffe Productions.
