Review, Rinse, Repeat

I’ve not had any life-changing run-ins with technology this week. No epiphanies. Nothing upsetting or celebratory. BUT I’ve acquired a couple products over the last few weeks that I want to tell you about.

Agloves. These don’t seem like anything special at first. They seem like just your run-of-the-mill, thin glove. But for those with capacitative touch screen devices and $18 to burn, they’re more. These are woven with real silver fibers (Ag), which means two things, really.

1) Real silver fibers mean they conduct heat. If you have a problem with your fingertips going cold
with gloves on, I encourage you to try these. I’ve worn a pair of fleece-lined leather gloves for a
few years—these Agloves are warmer, hands-down.

2) Real silver fibers mean they conduct electricity. So? Now you can text/call/surf the web with
your gloves on! I was skeptical, but these work as well, if not better, than my naked fingers.

I don’t have anything bad to say about the gloves except for the price. $18 is a bit steep for a thin pair of gloves, if you ask me—especially when you have to pay $3 for shipping. These aren’t available in stores, so you might as well plan to spend $21 on these. If they were $12, I’d gladly buy a few pairs to gift this holiday season. But for now, I’ll just spread the word and let my loved ones purchase their own.

So that’s the Aglove. My next accessory is the iPad stylus made by Targus.

When you download and open up the Penultimate app on the iPad, there’s an ad included that shows off the Pogo stylus, which is not the one I bought. Both of them do the same job, I’m sure, but I went for the Targus one for a few reasons.

First, the Targus one was at the local BestBuy store, so I didn’t have to wait for it. I’ve found that the waiting period during shipping gives me time to look for other (possibly better) investments, so I like to avoid it when I can.

Second, this stylus has a more polished look, overall. I’ve never held a Pogo one, so I can’t compare the feel…but this one looks better to me.

Third, this has a clip like pens do. I could clip it to my shirt pocket (who does that anymore?) or I can clip it to my iPad case. It won’t fit inside the Apple iPad case, but it clips to the outside binding nicely--- similar to sliding a pen onto the spiral binding of a notebook.

BestBuy is usually pretty good about letting you unpackage things to try them out in the store. If you’re curious about the Targus stylus for iPad, go check it out. I think it’s a great tool, but you don’t have to take my word for it!
