"We've stuck to our game plan, which is focusing on customers and restaurants and doing a
better job every day," he says. "It's paid dividends," says Skinner. He also uses the phrase "everyday affordability" a lot.
As far as obesity goes, Skinner maintains that McDonald's
has been part of the solution by creating choices and variety such as apples and 1% milk in Happy Meals menus, salads, grilled chicken and entrees that provide a nutritionally balanced meal.
"It's not my job to get up in the morning and prescribe to people what they eat, but I should give them a choice that makes them feel good about their decision and, more importantly, fits into the appropriate nutritional guidelines for them," Skinner says.
