I never understood people with smartphones. I didn't understand how a person could be so warped and consumed by a piece of handheld technology...until I obtained one of my own.

I used to have an ordinary Samsung Behold which I thought was something special at first because it had touch screen and easier access to the internet. Now I have the Samsung Intercept with Android! In my opinion, it's better than the iPhone. From what I've heard from iPhone owners, Android allows you to do sooo much more in terms of applications.

My Android allows me to download a variety of applications from date ideas to a barcode scanner that allows you to price match any product with a upc code using only one hand (this would be great to use for Christmas shopping this year!).

My Android can transform from my main phone line to my laptop, to a walkie talkie in a matter of seconds without interrupting any other application I may be using at one time. As a college student, it helps me to be more organized and efficient when planning out the next day, or even my next big date.

I was already heavily dependent on my cell phone, just because of the contacts it held alone. Now that I have a smart phone - with Android in particular - I don't think I could ever go back.
