Volkswagen is putting into action its plan to take on the big dogs in the mid-sized sedan world, the largest segment of the U.S. car market long dominated by Camry and Accord.
The
automaker will roll out a new car at the Detroit Auto Show meant to do just that. The Herdon, Va.-based automaker hasn't revealed the name yet. It seeks to triple sales by 2018. Nearly three million
new cars sold in the U.S. last year were mid-sized cars.
