Rumors Of Captain Crunch's Demise Exaggerated

Quaker Oats has quashed rumors that parent PepsiCo is planning to do away with the cereal, saying that the company has just launched an official Facebook page for the brand. The rumors started on Daily Finance, which said the brand is no longer on Quaker's main website, and Fox News ran with it, suggesting that First Lady Michelle Obama's anti-obesity campaign was somehow involved and "may explain why the Cap'n is less visible than he was in year's past." However, the company is apparently mulling a consumer promotion for the brand.
