Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) are expected to unveil an online privacy bill tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
An early draft of the bill, circulated last month, would give the Federal Trade Commission authority to craft
privacy regulations and to operate a Web site where consumers can opt out of online behavioral targeting. The measure would generally require companies to notify consumers about the collection of
their data; it also appears to require that companies allow consumers to opt out of having their data used by third parties, like ad networks.
