Spirit Airlines Debuts New Credit Card

  • April 25, 2011
Spirit Airlines is debuting  a new credit card with a new bank partner, Bank of America. The airline previously was partnered with Barclays Bank Delaware for its credit card.

The new Spirit World MasterCard credit card includes benefits such as two miles for every $1 spent on all purchases , and 15,000 bonus miles after the first qualifying purchase - enough for 3 round-trip off-peak award tickets. Users will receive this bonus even if they received bonus miles with the airline's prior card.

Customers who request the new card on April 25 will have their annual fee waived for the first year.

Since the credit card is issued by a new bank partner, consumers who carried the prior card will need to reapply to receive these benefits.--Tanya Irwin
