Former 'Boston Globe' Publisher William Osgood Taylor II Dies

Former Boston Globe publisher William Osgood Taylor II, who negotiated the sale of the paper to the New York Times Co., died Sunday evening at the age of 78.

Fourth in his family to run the paper, Taylor was publisher from 1978 to 1997, during which time the Globe won nine Pulitzer Prizes.
