Ford has tapped Stacey Coopes to head up its FordDirect program, a joint venture between Ford Motor and its franchise dealers. Coopes, who will be FordDirect CEO, was previously EVP of marketing and
technology for FordDirect. He has been part of the division's management team for the past eight years. The automaker says FordDirect Internet referrals represent 21.7% of its retail sales. Ford
dealers sold more than 275,000 new vehicles from FordDirect Internet referrals in 2010, per the automaker.
Previously, the CEO duties were split between Leo Hillock, EVP of dealer relations
and development and Ted Vincent, CFO. Ford says Hillock will continue managing FordDirect's Dealer relations and development department; Vincent will continue as chief financial officer; and
Valerie Fuller will continue managing FordDirect's operations.
