The U.S. Supreme Court has struck down a law that would have banned the sale of violent videogames to minors.
In a 7-2 ruling, the court said the California law violated First Amendment
rights, saying: "Even when the protection of children is the object, the constitutional limits on governmental action apply."
The ban was enacted in 2005, with California lawmakers saying that
violent video games, such as "Call of Duty," could cause psychological harm, and make minors more likely to exhibit violent or aggressive behavior.
