Azteca America, one of the country's fastest-growing Hispanic television networks, has tapped Elisa Salinas as chief executive officer of the company's Los Angeles affiliate and anchor station, KAZA-TV. Salinas, previously general director of the company's online property Azteca Novelas, has been charged with programming and promotional responsibilities. "We are looking forward for her dynamism and enthusiasm to reinforce our programming strategies and strengthen the current success of Azteca America," said TV Azteca chief operating officer Mario San Roman in a press release. "I am confident that Elisa will show the same talent and dedication that she has proven while leading Azteca Novelas." Martin Luna, head of Azteca Studios, will assume Salinas' responsibilities at Azteca Novelas until a permanent replacement is hired. Owned by Pappas Telecasting and operated by Azteca America under a local marketing agreement, KAZA-TV is a full-power station with complete cable coverage.
