Chipotle Mexican Grill will throw its first festival on Oct. 1, in Chicago's Lincoln Park. The festival, the first in a planed series in U.S. cities, seeks to spotlight Chipotle's commitment to
affordable, quality food made with ingredients from sustainable sources.
Admission to "Cultivate Chicago" is free, but proceeds from the foods offered by Chipotle (using the same ingredients
it uses in dishes on its menu, but in new preparations) will go to FamilyFarmed.org, a Chicago-based organization dedicated to supporting/expanding locally grown food sources.
Fresh food from
local artisans will also be available, and noted chefs from Chicago and elsewhere will give cooking demos and talks. The event will also offer live music, art, and craft ales and organic
wines.
