The trial to decide who controls broadcast rights to the Golden Globes -- Dick Clark Productions or the Hollywood Foreign Press Association -- may now be postponed until after March 2012, perhaps till
next summer or even later, according to a new federal judge on the case.
"Such a postponement could mean the rights for the 2013 Globes telecast could again become an issue, which might lead to
another one-year contract extension with NBC," writes Alex Ben Block. "That would be fine with Dick Clark, [according to a] source, but would not be what the HFPA wants to happen."
