Citing disappointment with its new ad agency, Carl's Jr. has parted ways with the El Segundo, Calif.-based David & Goliath. CKE Restaurants, the parent
company of Hardee's and Carl's Jr., immediately replaced David & Goliath with 72andSunny from Los Angeles.
"We would like to thank
David & Goliath for their hard work and dedication over the past year,” Brad Haley, chief marketing officer at CKE Restaurants, said in a prepared statement. "They are a great group of
people, but we became concerned about the recent direction of the advertising and determined that we needed to make a change." David & Goliath, hired earlier this year, was responsible for the
"Robot," "Miss Turkey," "Hamblor" and "Leprechaun" TV ads for Hardee's and Carl's Jr. Of the commercials produced by David & Goliath, the Robot ad was the most toned down — in terms of sex
appeal. The main character is a robot attempting to eat a chicken sandwich.
