Superstation WGN Surpasses 60 Million Mark

  • March 15, 2004
Superstation WGN has passed the 60 million subscribing homes milestone mostly due to launches in Atlanta, Georgia, Jacksonville, Florida, and Montgomery County, Maryland. The Superstation WGN launches, effective March 1, are a result of Tribune Company's recently negotiated agreement with Comcast, the nation's largest cable provider. Chicago Cubs baseball, which showed marked year-to-year audience growth in 2003 vs. 2002, has been a driving force behind Superstation WGN's audience increases. This year, Superstation WGN will show 70 regular season Cubs games and 30 regular season games featuring the American League's Chicago White Sox.
