  • February 12, 2003
Summus Inc., a developer of applications and information processing tools that optimize the wireless multimedia experience, and ABCNEWS.com and ESPN.com, have partnered to develop mobile applications for ABC News and ESPN's X Games. Both applications - ABC News Mobile Headlines and ESPN's X Games Top Shots - will provide wireless subscribers with photo-rich multimedia features while on the go. Visible immediately when the subscriber opens the phone, ABC News Mobile Headlines will allow users to view news stories and images from various categories such as Top News stories, U.S. Headlines, International Headlines, Politics and Entertainment. Subscribers can personalize the stories they receive based on their interests and can choose to be alerted to fast-breaking headline news by having text and photos delivered directly to their devices. The X Games Top Shots application, also powered by BlueFuel, will allow wireless subscribers to view and rank photos showing the best tricks and stunts from the X Games and other action sports events on their personal wireless devices. Users can choose to view photos of their favorite athletes from the X Games, or specific categories such as Skateboarding and Snowboarding. The application is also interactive - subscribers can rank photos and vote on their favorite tricks.
