The ViewRanger Outdoors GPS navigation app, designed for hikers and mountain bikers, includes route planning, real-time location sharing, active waypoint navigation, map coordinate entry, and many other features, such as search functions and a sports computer mode to allow dashboard views for more than 30 real-time stats. While on the trail, users can share their location via their phone or the Web, as well as thoughts through Twitter messages, photos, or videos. The app works with photo-sharing services from Picasa and Flickr—allowing geo-tagged photos taken on the trail.
