A lifeless movie theater poster was transformed into an interactive video game to promote the Paramount Pictures movie, “Transformers: Dark Of
The Moon”. Franchise fans that downloaded the augmented reality app were directed to the closest IMAX or AMC movie theater, where seemingly normal movie posters were displayed. Normal is in
the eye of the beholder. The movie poster came to life through the “eyes” of the user’s iPhone or iPad. A game was unlocked and users could play the role of OPTIMUS PRIME or
BUMBLEBEE defending Earth against the evil Decepticons. Once the movie poster was unlocked, an additional augmented reality game was released, available to play at anytime.
