Created specifically for the iPhone and iPod touch, the World Atlas app lets users explore the world with a host of features including three kinds of maps (blue ocean, antique, satellite), high-resolution imagery, and an interactive 3-D globe for rotating and switching among map types. The latest version also lets users “touch-and-hold” a country onscreen to pop up its facts and flag page. The updated database adds new countries like South Sudan.
