More than five million users have downloaded Mr. Number’s Android app to take back control over their phone numbers. The app brings all calls and texts into a smartbox for review, turns unknown numbers into names with crowd-sourced Caller ID, and automatically blocks calls and texts from unwanted numbers (including thousands of spammers and telemarketers that Mr. Number users have reported). Mr. Number also allows users to set their availability status, which lets contacts know when the person they are trying to reach is free or tied up. Perhaps the most popular feature of the app is the “Voicemail Only” feature, which allows users to send all calls, or just certain callers, directly to voicemail.
