A Crown Media Holdings spokesperson said Friday’s announcement that
it would “explore” using Rentrak’s digital set-top ratings data for “dual” advertising guarantees for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel doesn’t represent
anything imminent, and that it does not plan to actually offer them to advertisers and agencies for some time, if ever. The spokesperson said that exploratory process would be entirely internal.
“If we think there is data or analysis that helps our business and is good for the advertiser, we'll consider it,” she said, adding: “We are not doing anything at this point in
time.”
