Country Music Star to Appear in NBC Special

  • August 12, 2003
Country music singer Shania Twain will return to the stage for her first televised concert performance in more than three years as part of her upcoming NBC special, "Shania Twain: UP! Live from Chicago." Twain will perform her new hits and old favorites as part of a two-hour concert at Grant Park in Chicago. The special will also include her recent visit to Wrigley Field, where she threw the opening pitch and sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch. NBC said it's Twain's first network special in four years. In March 1999, her "Winter Break" special brought the audience home to Twain's native Timmins, Ontario, and paired her with Elton John in Miami. The other television specials, "Come on Over" and "Shania Twain Live" were both filmed in Dallas in 1999.
