New York Mets baseball has been renewed on Tribune Broadcasting's WPIX Channel 11 (The WB11) for the 2004 and 2005 baseball seasons under an agreement just struck between New York's WB Television
Network affiliate and long-term Mets TV rightsholder MSG Networks. Per past practice, a traditional schedule of 50 regular season Mets baseball games will be seen each season, free of charge to the
viewer, on WPIX. It will be the sixth and seventh seasons for the Mets on WPIX, where Major League Baseball games have been seen since 1948, the year the station signed on. In a continuation of
current practice, WPIX will pay a rights fee to MSG Networks, which will produce the TV broadcasts of the games. WPIX will handle advertising sales for the Mets games it broadcasts.
