Search marketing firm Covario has appointed Claire Long, former CFO of the San Diego Union-Tribune, to chief financial and chief operating officer. Long will oversee the company's finance, accounting and risk management sectors, as well as HR, legal, IT and marketing. She brings more than 20 years of experience, including corporate controller at electronics distributor Memec, later acquired by Avnet, and CFO at Visual Sciences, formerly WebSideStory, where she managed the acquisition by Omniture.
