I'm with Stupid: Jihad Edition

Boy, I wish all terrorists were this stupid.

Four geniuses (did you notice I’m being sarcastic?) from Southern California have been arrested on charges of plotting terror attacks, with the crucial tip-off coming from -- wait for it -- their own social media profiles.

An episode of "Homeland", this ain’t. Sohiel Omar Kabir, 34, Ralph Deleon, 23, Miguel Alejandro Santana Vidriales, 21, and Arifeen David Gojali, 21, were all arrested after three (Kabir, Deleon, and Santana) posted radical Islamist content and revealed their intention to carry out terror attacks on Facebook over the course of a year.

Deleon and Santana also “liked” Facebook posts by Kabir espousing terrorist violence. Another suspect confirmed his plans to carry out terrorism in an online chat with an FBI employee.

The three younger members of the group were recruited by Kabir and arrested as they prepared to travel to Afghanistan, where they planned to train with the Taliban and join Al Qaeda; Kabir was arrested in Afghanistan.

Of course, it’s worth noting that the evidence against the men isn’t drawn solely from social media. It also includes recorded conversations, travel document, contact with an informer, and at least one print publication: Santana apparently tipped off U.S. customs officials when he tried to carry a copy of “Inspire,” a jihadi publication, into the U.S.

In conclusion: what a bunch of morons.
