Cisco Creates Custom Video Service

Putting video streaming services on notice, Cisco this week unveiled Videoscape Unit -- a cloud-based video platform that it hopes service providers will embed in their set-top boxes. “The
software package includes a tool to recommend shows to a person based on past viewing patterns,” The New York Times’ Bits blog reports. “It creates a profile for each user.”
