AOL Pulls Plug On Advertising.com Group, Renames It "AOL Networks'

AOL Tuesday announced that Advertising.com Group has been renamed AOL Networks. AOL said the re-branding aligns the unit, which was one of the seminal online ad networks, with "its parent brand AOL, and should help all stakeholders better understand the rich stack of assets and robust technology it brings together for its nearly 20,000 publishers and 4,000 advertiser and agency clients. The new name clearly represents the recognized cross-screen offerings across premium, programmatic and performance advertising."

The group includes former namesake ad net Advertising.com, the AOL On Network, goviral, Adtech, and Pictela.
