An Australian software developer said Google provided him with personal information like email addresses and postal codes of everyone who purchased his mobile app, drawing heat with regulators, Reuters reports. Apparently the policy is related to the Google Wallet payment service. Those who read the Terms and Conditions of most apps will see the words and share with third-party providers, but most don't. Google isn't the only company being accused of data misuse. What about Apple? An Apple spokesperson said the company only shares general information about the number of downloads with third-party app developers and does not pass along personal information. Apple terms does state, however, passing data when using Siri and Dictation features in the iOS software, such as first name and nickname; the names, nicknames, and relationship with you in your address book contacts; and song names in your collection.
