Generating almost exactly half of its parent’s worldwide total, Chevrolet posted sales of 1.18 million vehicles during the first quarter of 2013, its 10th consecutive
quarterly record – despite the continuing slide of the European automotive market. General Motors itself saw sales jump 3.6% for the quarter, to 2.36 million worldwide. The industry overall grew
just 1.5% year-over-year. That allowed GM to boost its global market share to 11.4%, up from 11.2% during the first quarter of 2012.
