AIS Becomes MIS, Reflects Commitment To Media Shops

  • September 14, 2004
Advertising Information Services, a leading service for pre-screening, monitoring and verifying programming and advertising content, Monday renamed itself Media Information Services, which it said more accurately reflects the markets it serves: media agencies, broadcasters, advertisers and advertising agencies. The company will continue to operate its core businesses of program content pre-screenings and pre-air and post-air commercial verification as well as introduce new services such as sponsor placement reports, non-program analysis and agency support services. Earlier this year, the company made the strategic decision to divest itself of its commercial archiving division and relinquish the AIS name, which led to erroneous reports that the entire company had been purchased. In fact, as part of this divestiture, the company reorganized and re-branded, creating a new look and a new name.
