Real-time Web platform Echo recently released DiscussIt Moderator, a tool that allows publishers to moderate conversations in real-time across multiple apps and Web sites.
WWE, for example, uses the tool to moderate fan chatter during live events on social networks. "WWE fans are passionate and generate thousands of comments during each live event both on social networks as well as directly on WWE.com," stated Perkins Miller, EVP, digital media, WWE.
The tool can detect spam, community flagging, and filters out "bad words" - which isn't exactly new, and can sometimes end up being a real pain for a fans typing innocent words. It can also search conversations based on where they take place (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), or as a whole.
According to the release, "teams can co-moderate real-time content from any Echo Enabled applications - including Comments, Forums, Media Galleries, Lifestreams and Social Chatter - through a single, centralized interface."
