Google Acquires Makani Power

Google has acquired Makani Power, a startup described as building power-generating cable-tethered flying wind turbines, to integrate in Google X's "moonshot" division that focuses on the most science fiction-type technologies. Google helped to fund the company in its early days. The company's multibillion-dollar research and development budget allows the company to experiment.
