Publicis Shakes Up VivaKi, Unkel Named Global AOD Chief

Publicis has reorganized the executive team of its VivaKi unit, naming Kurt Unkel global president of its Audience On Demand (AOD) trading desk, and appointing Domenic Venuto president of data and technology. Both report to VivaKi CEO Frank Voris.

Unkel, who was a co-founder of AOD, had been president of products and solutions, and takes the helm of AOD it expands its global footprint to 24 countries.

Venuto, who was president of global operations at VivaKi, takes over the data and technology group following the recent launch of its “Big Data” solution, SkySkraper.

    Not quite sure it qualifies as a "shake up" ;-) but it does underscore the importance of Big Data and programmatic media buying.

    Amazing. Supports the suspicions that VivaKi is struggling with adoption and acceptance by Publicis subsidiaries. When your team would rather develop internally and sidestep VivaKi, you have an unnecessary resource. "Where there is smoke, there is fire..."
