Nielsen's Susan Whiting To Retire

Long-time Nielsen executive Susan Whiting will retire as vice chair of the company at the end of the year.

Whiting, whose career spanned 35 years and a number of management and ownership teams -- private, public, private equity and public again -- joined Nielsen as the first woman hired into the company's inaugural media management training program.

During the course of her career, Whiting was promoted into key leadership roles that included president-CEO of U.S. media, chairman of global media measurement and global executive vice president.

Whiting was named to her current role as vice chair in 2008.

Susan is truly a class act, and was a pleasure to work with over many years. Her success was well deserved.
