Google Map Lets Visitors Search, Track, Global Deforestation Changes

Google Earth now shows how the world's forests have changed from 2000 to 2012, through a mapping program created by Google and University of Maryland researchers.
The global 30-meter resolution thematic map of the Earth’s land surface allows site visitors to search for information on a variety of conditions. It offers a consistent
characterization of forest change at a resolution high enough to show local changes. It captures myriad forest dynamics, including fires, tornadoes, disease and logging.
