Aereo, which offers live broadcast TV and DVR over the Web in 11 U.S. markets including Boston, will expand to its next region on Feb. 19 with the addition of
the Greater San Antonio region.
Aereo membership, already available in the Houston area in Texas, will be available to consumers residing in an additional 22 counties in the state in the area
of San Antonio.
The company is headquartered in New York City, but has 70 of its 105 employees at an office in Boston.
The major broadcasters — includingDisney/ABC, Fox, NBC and CBS — have accused Aereo of copyright
infringement and unfair competition, initially suing the company in March 2012.
Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to take up the case by broadcasters against Aereo this year.

Aereo's
service is currently available in New York City, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, Salt Lake City, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Baltimore and Cincinnati. Aereo said it plans to expand to 15 markets by the
end of the quarter, and last month raised $34 million in new
funding to support its expansion across the U.S.
Aereo runs its service by catching broadcast signals with tiny antennas and then streaming the signals to customers' devices.
Membership to Aereo begins at $8 per month.
