Disney is reportedly eyeing Maker Studios for upwards of $500 million. Regarding the deal, Re/Code writes: “If it goes through, it would be by far the biggest bet by a traditional media company
in a company built on top of YouTube.” By its own count, Maker generates 5.5 billion video views a month, the vast majority of which occur on YouTube.
