Top VCs Call "Anonymous" Apps Faddish

Despite the buzz surrounding “anonymous” messaging apps like Secret and Whisper, some influential investors say the excitement will be short-lived. For one, Benchmark Capital partner Bill Gurley isn’t onboard. "I think it's going to be really hard to monetize," Gurley said of the trend, according to Business Insider. Fred Wilson, managing partner at Union Square Ventures, is also calling anonymous apps a fad. "I think all of this might just be a phase we’re going through,” he said.
