IBM has revealed plans to acquire email marketing firm Silverpop, in a deal whose terms were not disclosed. According to a report in Atlanta Business Chronicle, the transaction is rumored to have been
for $270 million. IBM has recently acquired a number of marketing services firms including Unica, Coremetrics, and Sterling. The Silverpop acquisition brings database management and email into the
mix.
